Independent Director

Ms. Quamrun Naher Ahmed is a distinguished former civil servant of the Government of Bangladesh, having served as Additional Secretary (Retired). She brings more than 32 years of experience in public administration, government budgeting, financial policy, and institutional governance.

She spent over 13 years in the Ministry of Finance. As Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Financial Institutions Division, she contributed to the formulation of rules, policies, and regulatory frameworks for banks and financial institutions. She also served as Managing Director of Probashi Kallyan Bank and later as Full-Time Member and Chairman (in Charge) of the National River Conservation Commission. In addition, she served as a Director of key institutions, including the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) and Karmasangsthan Bank.

Ms. Ahmed has a strong academic background. She completed her BSS (Honours) and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka and earned an MPhil in Social Change, with distinction (Grade A), from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway.

She has also completed numerous international professional training programs in governance, public administration, financial policy, capital-market regulation, development evaluation, and risk financing. Her major overseas training includes programs at Swansea University, Wales; the Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam; the IMF-Singapore Regional Training Institute; Civil Service College, Singapore; the University of Manchester; RMIT University, Melbourne; the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Tokyo; the U.S. State Department, Washington, DC; the Securities Commission Malaysia; Carleton University, Ottawa; Duke University; and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
